CBIT & ComB are now available in CT, NY, MA, NH, and VT !
Online OTs is a progressive occupational therapy practice treating repetitive movements, vocalizations, and behaviors. We provide both CBIT Therapy and ComB Habit Reversal Training for Tourette Syndrome and other Tic Disorders, Functional Neurological Disorders, and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors.
The goal of therapy is to gain a better understanding of one’s condition and to manage it with ongoing support and research-backed strategies. Sensory awareness, education, environmental modification, advocacy, assistive technology, compassion, and behavioral blockers are core program components. CBIT competing response training also helps to provide some immediate relief and to decrease the frequency and intensity of urges and unwanted actions.
Our CBIT and ComB occupational therapy services are available via telehealth throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, New York, and Vermont. Due to federal licensing laws, we can not accept patients residing in other states or countries. Video conferencing is via a HIPPA compliant version of Google Meet. Parents are required to be participate in all sessions with minors.

Online OTs treats conditions for which there are very few trained health professionals. As a result, most insurers do not have providers in network. This means that you may be eligible for a Network Gap Exception. Ask your PCP for a referral to Online OTs and then request pre-authorization and reimbursement from your insurer.
Please note that all patients with a gap exception and/or those with insurance other than BCBS PPO and MGBHP are considered private pay and are charged for services in full. You will be provided documentation to then seek the reimbursement from your insurer. The necessary information to seek authorization is below:

Patients with Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRB) such as excessive and harmful skin picking, hair pulling, nail biting, cheek biting, lip pulling, nose picking, and thumb sucking should meet with their PCP, dermatologist, and other relevant providers to rule out possible causes for the behavior and to address any skin damage or risk for infection.
FND, Tic disorders, and Body-Focused Repetitve Behaviors can cause great emotional distress and lead to mental health concerns. If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out to a pediatrician, PCP, psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, counselor, emergency room, support group, mental health organization, or 911.
